A well maintained infrastructure is fundamental to the health of the American economy. There is a national crisis looming if we continue to fail to properly invest in rebuilding our roads, bridges, dams, power grids, ports and so on. One in four bridges are either structurally deficient or obsolete. Maintenance spending is woefully behind and the longer repairs are deferred, the more expensive it is to repair. The American Society of Civil Engineers overall, gives our infrastructure a ā€œDā€ grade. There is an opportunity however, to creatively rebuild or replace this crumbling infrastructure to keep our communities competitive in the global economy. My focus is principally on bridges.
